The ESPN and evolution of renal care for children in Europe
To mark ESPN’s 50th birthday, this witness seminar will document and discuss some of the main developments in paediatric nephrology over the last half century.
The speakers are all eminent senior doctors who have contributed significantly to children’s kidney care and will lead discussion on major themes including end-stage renal disease management in children, nephrotic syndrome and the collaborative work of the ESPN.
There are plans to record or film the seminar to preserve it as a historical record.
Far from just a nostalgic look at the past, there are important lessons to be learned to help us look ahead; although the seminar will appeal particularly to senior doctors, it is open to all with an interest in the history of medicine.
