Opening Ceremony 
The Opening Ceremony will be held at the SEC on Wednesday 6th September.

Welcome Civic Reception

After the formal Opening Ceremony, Scottish bagpipers will lead a procession of ESPN delegates across the bridge over the River Clyde to Glasgow’s Science Centre, where they can enjoy an informal Civic reception with drinks and canapés hosted by The Rt Hon The Lord Provost of Glasgow. The science centre is a 5 minute walk form the SEC and campus hotels.

 

ESPN 5K Fun Run in aid of Kidney Research UK.

Why not join us to kick-start the conference whilst helping to save lives?
On Thursday evening, join Kidney Research UK for their 5K run and have the opportunity to see the city of Glasgow with a route which cross-crosses the bridges over the Clyde. By taking part, you can help Britain's leading kidney research charity, fund more research into the causes, prevention and treatment of kidney disease. The run will also be celebrating the coming merger of Kids Kidney Research and Kidney Research UK.

Gala Dinner

The Gala Dinner will take place in Kelvingrove Art Gallery which is a 15-20 minute walk or 5-10 minute taxi ride from the SEC. Dress code is smart. Enjoy a welcome drink whilst viewing the exhibits in this beautiful baroque building. A dinner of traditional Scottish fare will be followed by a ceilidh with Scottish country dancing. Kilts welcome but not compulsory! Taxis will be available at the end of the night.
